If I have to be honest, I’m not a hostel fan. That’s because I always want to preserve my personal spaces, and this is pretty difficult in a hostel.

So, when it came to decide if staying in the Art Hole Hostel in Prague, I was torn: just looking at the pictures on internet, I knew I would have liked that place. All the rooms and the common areas are colorful, the walls are painted and decorated with beautiful art, and the atmosphere is young and happy.

The Location

The Art Hole Hostel is pretty close to Prague old town: just 10 minutes walking to the Old Town Square. The hostel area, anyway, is very busy and you can find everything you need: banks, supermarkets, bakeries, restaurants, pubs. So I think the location is a perfect compromise between your touristic activities and you personal needs. There’s also a subway stop just few minutes away and, if you want to live some local experiences, you can have a 15 minutes walk and enjoy Karlín neighborhood.

Accommodation

The Art Hole Hostel is quite big: it takes up two entire floors of the building, and it can hosts up to 50 people. It offers accommodation in six different rooms: two 4-bed and two 10-bed dorms, a 6-bed dorm and 16-bed one. All of them are mixed, and furnished with lockers.

I was in a 6-bed dorm and, fortunately, the bed above mine was vacant, so I had a bit more space for my stuff.

On the second floor of the hostel (where I was accommodated) there were only 2 toilets and 2 showers.

Even if the toilets were the tiniest ever, they were pretty clean, and the same was for the showers. This was a very good surprise: another reason why I usually avoid hostels is because I expect dirty bathrooms due to the big amount of people using them. In this case I was very very happy to have had clean enough spaces in the Art Hole Hostel in Prague.

Facilities

For being a hostel, it offers several comforts. First of all, the reception is open 24/7, and this is always a good point. Washing machines and dryers are available under payment, there are hairdryers to be used whenever you need, and you can even ask for free towels. The wifi works in all the rooms and common areas, and there are also 3 computers to be used by guests. Like every hostel, also the Art Hole Hostel has got a kitchen available, so you can perfectly cook a meal or use the fridge for your own food.

And, every morning, you can have a free breakfast in the hostel! It’s not the best breakfast ever: it’s quite basic, with no much choice and, if you care, it’s not vegan-friendly. But it’s not even the worst. 🙂

Conclusions

My experience in the Art Hole Hostel in Prague was pretty good! 🙂 What I liked the most was the colorful and artistic atmosphere, that fully reflects the name. The place has a friendly, relaxed vibe, and I would honestly recommend it even if you’re not a hostel fan, just like me! 🙂
