If you have just landed at Sydney Airport and you want to go to the city centre, doing it in a low cost way is possible, you just have to be plenty of patience and sense of direction.

At the exit of the National Arrival, you have to take the bus 400 for few stops and go down in Wickham Street. Once you’re there, you should have a 15-20 minutes walk, until Wollicreek Station, where you can take the train to Sydney Central Station: it’s the third stop and the train trip last only 10 minutes.

In this way, using the Opal Card (you will need it in any case for using the public transport in the city), you will spend only 2.36 AUD, comparing to the 15.36 AUD that you will spend choosing to take the same train directly from the Airport.

I know, you will need just a little bit more time, but you will save a lot.

Going from Sydney airport to the city centre can be low cost!

Will you visit Melbourne too? Check how to go from the Melbourne airport to the city centre dall’aeroporto di Melbourne al centro della città  on a low cost mode.
