Are you arriving at the beautiful Melbourne, and are you wandering if there’s a way to reach the city centre from the airport without spending a fortune?

Well, the Melbourne airport – city centre route on a low cost mode exists!

For sure, if you spend 15 Australian Dollars for a direct touristic company bus, the trip will be faster. But the way I’m going to share with you is not only a good one to save some money, but also for discovering glimpses in the city that, otherwise, you would not see.

Buy the Myki Card in the airport: it’s the Melbourne transports’ pass and you will need it in any case because it’s the only possible way for moving in the city using public transports. Remember to tap it on and off every time you go in or out a bus, tram or train in Melbourne.

Paying just 3,50 AUD, from the Bus Interchange in the Airport, at lane 17, take the bus 901 for almost 15 minutes until Broadmeadows Railways Station. From this station there’re a lot of train going to Melbourne city centre: just choose the right one according to your final destination.

That’s it!

In this way, you will spend only 3,50 AUD (comparing to 15 AUD for the direct bus), and you will arrive from the airport to the city centre in approximately an hour.

I did it, and I have to confess: it was a very nice surprise!

Once you reach the Melbourne city centre, you just have to explore it and enjoy this amazing city! 🙂
